Chennai Rainfall

People are much aware of the recent rainfall in Chennai which is causing floods all over the city. Instead of cars, bikes and other road transports only boats were floating here and there across the streets. According to history, since 1901 this year stands as the 4th most heaviest rainfall in this month that too in just 17 days. Many people have left their homes as the rainwater stags inside and to not get affected by it leaving even their costly things inside. Rescue operations was on full process across city. Its great to see many people helping others and the most wonderful thing is even students take part in helping poor people by distributing foods and clothing and other needs. Not even Chennai but even the surrounding areas such as Kancheepuram, Thiruvallur and Cuddalore districts were affected even more badly than Chennai. What is the reason for all these damages?
Political parties have time only to argue and complain about each and other but not to plan for curing the damages. There should have been a systematic plan. First of all the reason for the rainwater to flow inside many houses is only because of the construction of houses on the lakes and river sides. Look how the roads are. The side ends of the roads could have a slope and a drainage with water flow connecting to sea could be initiated. It would have made the flow easier. The electricity board in all the areas are damn worst. Maybe Indian Government can bring out Non-Conventional Electricity plan which would be easier and less harmful instead of nuclear energy. Instead of wasting so much money for unwanted purposes why can't they do useful things like these. More ideas will be updated.
